Polopos Village Andalucia

A stroll around the village

Wander the village...with it's spectacular views...

beautiful whitewashed houses...smell the mountain herbs...on a balmy evening...

Listen to the bells of the sheep and goats far off on a craggy mountain ridge...

the owls and the crickets at night or the mules passing by the house on their way to work in the campo...

Mule getting prepared to collect almonds form the Campo

opoPolopos village is different and special to me...and that is why I chose it...Words cannot really describe the delight of "being" there...It has a beauty and serenity of it's own...and an inspiring place to stay...Once there time takes on a different meaning...it is an easy place to shed that anxiety...let go of the stresses and strains of modern life...The village is small...the views are stunning...the people are welcoming...and all amidst a thriving agricultural community with it's trade in almonds and wine...a population of around 100 people...mostly Spanish...with just one bar...The bread man comes daily...as well as deliveries of veg and fruit and fish once or twice each week...but for other shopping or eating out...the coast is just 6 miles away...It is high up in the mountains at an altitude of 778 metres...
